Wedding Wisdom: From This Moment by Megan

I'm so excited to share this month's Wedding Wisdom! Megan, of From This Moment by Megan, has not only shared her story about how she started her incredible business, but she has so kindly shared many tips and tricks for couples planning your Wedding Day.

If you've thought about incorporating a content creator into your wedding, this is the perfect place to start!

Tell us about you and your business

Hi! I’m Megan, the face behind From This Moment by Megan. I started my business while planning my own wedding and realised there weren’t many people locally offering wedding content creation. With a media degree and a background in content creation (before I trained as a teacher!), I saw the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for storytelling and creativity with the joy of weddings and that’s how From This Moment was born.

I’ve honestly always been that girl making reels at every event; capturing all the little moments and turning them into memories. A few of my TikTok videos had gone viral too, which made me think I could really turn this into something for others. Whilst I was still on maternity leave, two of my lovely friends were getting married in December last year, and I asked if they’d be happy for me to capture their day at the gorgeous Town Head Estate; just as a bit of a tester to see if this was something I’d really love. Thankfully, I absolutely did and even better, the content really resonated! One of my very first videos reached over 11k views (I was genuinely humbled by that response!)

Since then, I’ve been so fortunate to have bookings coming in every month. The magic I feel being a part of a couple’s wedding day is something truly special - I absolutely love it. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working at some incredible venues alongside amazingly talented photographers, videographers, and other brilliant suppliers. Katie Green has been particularly generous and kind with her advice, and I’ve also been lucky enough to be given an amazing opportunity by Hannah Brookes to be part of a styled shoot at The Orangery at Settrington, something I was so excited and thankful to have been involved in.

I’ve also received some lovely feedback from my couples, which honestly means the world and is so reassuring when you’re building something new.

I’ve been really fortunate to be supported by other creators too, like the wonderful Content by Kaysy, who’s been so generous in sharing her knowledge and sending me countless voice notes to help me on my way. A local photographer who I worked with on one of my earliest weddings, Anthony Ives, also kindly added me to a supplier WhatsApp group, which honestly welcomed me with open arms. It’s become such a safe space to share experiences, opportunities, and just general life chat with other lovely people in the industry. We recently all got together for a supplier social and maybe it was the Elderflower Spritz’s, or maybe I really did make some friends for life that night…either way, I feel very grateful to have found such a supportive community.

What specific services do you offer weddings?

At From This Moment by Megan, I offer wedding content creation, capturing all the beautiful behind-the-scenes moments, raw emotions, and fun snippets from your day in real time, straight from a guest’s perspective.

My services include:

  • On-the-Day Content Creation – I’ll be with you throughout your day, capturing candid, in-the-moment videos and photos using my phone so you can relive the magic within 24 hours.
  • Next-Day Highlights – I’ll send you an edited reel and story-ready content the very next day, so you don’t have to wait weeks to see your wedding memories. With all edit reels delivered within 4 days!
  • Guest POV Coverage – I capture all those little moments you might miss - like your best friend’s reaction during your vows or those behind-the-scenes giggles while you’re getting ready.
  • Pre-Wedding Consultations – I get to know you and what you’d love to see captured on your day, so everything feels personal and stress-free.

I’m not a replacement for a professional photographer or videographer but I’m there to complement them and to give you those fun, authentic, real-time memories you can look back on straight away.

How far in advance should couples contact you?

Ideally, I recommend getting in touch as soon as you’ve set your wedding date and have a rough idea of your timeline. Dates can book up quickly, especially during peak wedding season, so reaching out 6-12 months in advance is perfect to secure your spot.

That said, I totally understand that sometimes things come together last minute so please do still get in touch, even if your wedding is just around the corner! If I’m available, I’d love to be there to capture your day.

What are some of the biggest wedding trends you've noticed recently, and how can couples incorporate them into their celebrations?

One of the biggest trends I’ve noticed recently is couples really leaning into personal, unfiltered, and relaxed content. More people are moving away from overly posed wedding media and instead are loving those candid, guest’s-eye-view moments that feel authentic and full of personality which is exactly what wedding content creation is all about! For example, my most successful reel is of a bride, who is a really great friend of mine, and her little girl just chatting candidly about the size of her mummy’s wedding dress. It’s a beautiful behind-the-scenes moment that when I captured it with just us three in the room, I knew it would be a memory cherished forever!

Content creators on the day are becoming a huge part of modern weddings, so couples can have instant, real-time memories without waiting weeks for their professional photos and videos (although caveat I still thing both a professional photographer is an absolute MUST on your big day & a videographer if your budget allows). This is such a fun way to relive all the little in-between moments straight away, and it really complements the work of photographers and videographers.

Other trends I’m seeing:

  • Audio guestbooks – a beautiful, nostalgic touch where guests can leave you voice messages instead of written notes.
  • Documentary-style wedding content – less curated, more “fly-on-the-wall” which gives you that natural, story-driven feel.
  • Content-focused weddings – couples are intentionally planning special moments for social media, like private vow readings, outfit changes, champagne pops, or confetti exits, which make for incredible reels and TikToks.

If couples want to incorporate these trends, I always recommend chatting with your suppliers early on - especially your photographer and videographer - to make sure everyone’s on the same page so your day flows smoothly, and your content feels seamless and stress-free.

Can you share any timeless wedding style ideas that never go out of fashion?

Absolutely! While trends come and go, there are some wedding styles that always feel effortlessly beautiful and stand the test of time.

I think a beautifully crafted veil is one of the most timeless bridal details. Whether it’s delicately edged with lace, adorned with subtle beading, or kept completely simple and sheer, a veil has an elegance that transcends trends. Plus, when else in life do you get to wear a veil? It frames the bride in such a classic, romantic way; a style moment that never goes out of fashion.

Another thing that always feels timeless? Personal touches. Whether it’s handwritten vows, using family heirlooms, or adding meaningful details to your day, those are the things that really make your wedding memorable for years to come. I’m getting married next year in Italy and I’ve already let my husband-to-be know that I need a handwritten letter to open on the big day (pre-make-up of course haha!)

And of course, capturing the raw, real moments. The smiles, happy tears, and spontaneous laughs; that’s the kind of wedding content that will always stay special, no matter what’s trending.

Finally, what are your top 3 tips for couples planning a wedding, when it comes to your specialism?

Book your content creator early! Dates can fill up quickly, especially in peak season, so if you know you want those behind-the-scenes, real-time memories, it’s always best to secure your content creator as soon as you can.

Communicate your must-capture moments. I always give my couples a pre-wedding questionnaire to make sure I know what’s really important to them. Whether it’s their partner’s reaction as you walk down the aisle, a surprise element they’ve planned (like having their dogs as ring bearers!), or simply lots of content of their guests having fun. The more their share with me, the more personal their content will feel.

Relax and be present. Some of the best, most meaningful content comes from natural, unscripted moments. Trust your suppliers, enjoy your day, and I’ll make sure I’m capturing all the magic that’s happening around you.
