Wedding Wisdom: Kimberley Elizabeth Jewellery

Choosing bespoke jewellery for your wedding is a deeply personal and meaningful part of the planning journey. From engagement rings and wedding bands to special gifts and heirloom redesigns, bespoke jewellery allows you to create something truly one of a kind.

In this month's Wedding Wisdom, the first of 2026, the incredibly talented Kim from Kimberley Elizabeth Jewellery is sharing more about her, her business, and her top tips and advice when it comes to planning your wedding.

Tell us about you and your business

I'm Kim, the founder and designer behind Kimberley Elizabeth Jewellery. Alongside my signature collections, I specialise in creating timeless bridal jewellery, as well as bespoke engagement and wedding rings. Every piece is made in my home workshop with intention and crafted to celebrate love stories in the most personal and meaningful way.

My journey into jewellery-making began back at high school, when I attended a silversmithing evening class at my local college, and I’ve been captivated ever since. In May 2019, I took the leap and launched Kimberley Elizabeth Jewellery, driven by a deep appreciation for fine craftsmanship and the emotional significance jewellery holds.

What specific services do you offer weddings?

I create bridal jewellery designed to celebrate every important person and moment of your special day - from the bride to her bride tribe - as well as bespoke wedding rings.

My goal is to offer something truly unique, beyond the mass-produced, where each piece reflects your style, values, and personal story. Whether it’s a perfectly fitted wedding band or a sentimental keepsake for the big day. I work closely with each bride and groom to craft jewellery that feels deeply personal, purposeful, and destined to be treasured for generations.

How far in advance should couples contact you?

Ideally, around 6-8 months before your wedding. This gives plenty of time to explore styles, decide on custom designs and account for my typical lead time of 6-8 weeks. Starting early also allows time for resizing, adjustments, or any unexpected changes and ensures plenty of time to bring your vision to life and create something truly special for your big day. It’s never too early to start thinking about your wedding rings!

That said, if you’re on a tighter timeline, don’t worry – I’ll always do my best to accommodate where possible. But the earlier we start, the more options we’ll have, particularly for sourcing stones or creating intricate, handcrafted details.

What are some of the biggest wedding trends you've noticed recently, and how can couples incorporate them into their celebrations?

One of the biggest trends I’ve seen is a shift toward personalisation and storytelling; couples are moving away from traditional, one-size-fits-all pieces and are instead choosing jewellery that truly reflects who they are. A lot of my couples are opting for custom wedding bands that include subtle personal details like engraving on the inside of their wedding bands, or design elements inspired by meaningful locations or memories.

Can you share any timeless wedding style ideas that never go out of fashion?

One timeless style element I always come back to, and that never goes out of fashion is pearls. They’ve been a bridal favourite for centuries, and for good reason: they’re elegant, romantic, and beautifully versatile.

Pearls have a soft, natural lustre that complements any bridal look, from classic and traditional to modern and minimalist. Whether worn as a delicate pair of earrings, a simple pendant, or a strand passed down through generations, pearls bring a sense of refined elegance and understated luxury to the wedding day.

They’re also incredibly meaningful. Pearls are often associated with purity and love, and because they’re timeless, they can be worn well beyond the wedding day — making them a lovely heirloom piece to treasure or pass on.

Finally, what are your top 3 tips for couples planning a wedding, when it comes to your specialism?

1. Choose pieces that reflect your personal style – not just current trends
Your wedding rings and bridal jewellery will be with you long after the day itself, so it’s important to choose designs that feel like you. Whether that means clean and minimal, vintage-inspired, or something completely unique – trust your instincts and go with pieces you’ll love wearing every day.

2. Consider how your pieces work together
Think about how your wedding band will sit against your engagement ring, especially if your ring has a distinctive setting or shape. A fitted or contoured band might be the perfect match. The same goes for bridal jewellery – your earrings, necklace, or bracelet should complement your dress and each other without overwhelming your overall look.

3. Don’t overlook comfort and practicality
Your wedding ring should be as comfortable as it is beautiful – after all, you’ll wear it every day. Pay attention to the band width, profile, and fit. Similarly, choose bridal jewellery that won’t compete with your hairstyle or neckline, and that you’ll enjoy wearing again after the wedding.
