I’m so delighted that the first supplier taking part, is Rachel Ovenden, a fantastic photographer based here in Lancashire.
Tell us about you and your business
I'm Rachel, a wedding photographer based in Lancashire, with nearly a decade of experience capturing timeless, moment-driven celebrations. My focus is on creating natural images that reflect the authentic moments of your day, with a touch of editorial elegance. I create an experience that feels comfortable and uplifting, making couples feel like a friend is there to document their day.
What specific services do you offer?
I offer full-day documentary wedding photography, along with engagement & pre-wedding stylised shoots. I also provide bespoke packages for elopements and intimate weddings, ensuring a tailored experience for every couple.
How far in advance of a wedding should couples contact you?
I recommend booking as early as possible, ideally 12-18 months in advance, to secure your date. However, if your wedding is coming up sooner, it’s always worth checking my availability!
What are some of the biggest wedding trends you've noticed recently, and how can couples incorporate them into their celebrations?
I’ve seen a rise in intentional, personalised details, like curated tablescapes, custom stationery, and meaningful nods to the couple's story. These are fantastic for creating an atmosphere that feels uniquely yours and photograph beautifully without being overly trendy.
Can you share any timeless wedding style ideas that never go out of fashion?
The most timeless weddings are the ones that are true to the couple's own style. When your day is authentically styled around who you are, it will always feel meaningful and timeless, no matter how trends evolve. Avoid doing things just for the sake of tradition or a photo opportunity, focus instead on what feels genuine to you both.
Finally, what are your top 3 tips for couples planning a wedding, when it comes to your specialism?
- Choose a photographer whose work resonates with you emotionally. It’s important to feel a connection to their style and approach.
- Consider what you value when deciding on your timeline. It’s okay to set aside time for just the two of you to have portraits without feeling guilty that you’re not mingling and equally, if you want to be in the mix as much as possible, consider limiting how many group photos you pose for, your wedding day should be spent exactly how YOU want to!
- Remember that the little, authentic moments often become the most cherished memories. Let yourself be in the moment, your photographer will be capturing all your memories for you.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Budgeting for a wedding can be challenging, so focus on what truly means the most to you as a couple. Don’t feel pressured to buy things just because they’re labeled as “wedding” items—invest in what will bring you the most joy and lasting memories.
