Tell us about you and your business
I’m Rebecca, founder of Rebecca Anne Designs – a bespoke embroidery studio specialising in personalised wedding veils and, more recently, embroidered signage.
My background is in fashion design and this creative foundation naturally led me into the bridal world after winning an internship with a British bridal designer. Ten years ago, I launched Rebecca Anne Designs with the aim of giving veils the attention they deserve. What started as a small capsule collection has grown into a brand known for emotion-led bespoke design, thoughtful embroidery, and heirloom-quality pieces created with intention.
What specific services do you offer weddings
I create one-of-a-kind embroidered veils directly for brides, drawing inspiration from each individual love story and aesthetic. Alongside veils, I also offer personalised embroidered wedding signage, from welcome signs to table plans– ideal for couples who want every element of their celebration to feel considered and cohesive. Everything is created in-house in my dedicated studio space, from sketch to stitch.
How far in advance of a wedding should couples contact you?
I recommend getting in touch around six months before your wedding, especially if you’d like a bespoke veil. That said, many of my brides secure their spot much earlier – I often book out months in advance. However, if your wedding is approaching fast and you've only just discovered my work, still reach out! If I have space in my diary, I’d love to help.
The veil journey typically begins with a design consultation via email or zoom, where we explore your ideas, dress, styling, and wedding details. Once we have settled on the design and booked you in with a deposit, I’ll sketch the embroidery concept for you, along with embroidered samples sent in the post for your final approval before making the veil itself. The veil itself is made to bespoke dimensions which I can advise on to ensure your veil perfectly complements your dress.
What are some of the biggest wedding trends you've noticed recently, and how can couples incorporate them into their celebrations?
I'm seeing more brides embrace main character energy – not necessarily in a loud or dramatic way, but in the sense of choosing pieces that are deeply personal and designed with meaning. Think handwriting embroidery, symbolic florals, or phrases that only the couple truly understand.
There’s also a strong shift towards design-led styling over following fast trends. I love when brides come to me with an intentional aesthetic and we collaborate to bring their vision to life in a way that feels uniquely theirs.
Can you share any timeless wedding style ideas that never go out of fashion?
The two-tier veil is definitely having a moment again, adding softness and theatre to the bridal look. There’s also a beautiful resurgence of the mantilla veil – particularly paired with sleek or minimal silhouettes. And for those who love simplicity, a single-tier veil with subtle embroidery can create a quietly powerful statement. Whatever the style, when embroidery is meaningful and thoughtfully placed, it never dates.
Finally, what are your top 3 tips for couples planning a wedding, when it comes to your specialism?
1. Start with how you want to feel. Your veil should complement your dress, yes but more importantly, it should reflect you. Whether you want to feel ethereal, empowered, romantic or bold, let that guide the design.
2. Don’t leave it too late. While I can sometimes help with last-minute requests, a longer lead time allows for creative exploration. Your veil deserves more than being an afterthought.
3. Think about your veil in the context of the day. Consider where you’re getting married, your hairstyle, your dress details, and your photography plans, all of these impact the type of veil that will work best for you.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I’ve always believed a veil should feel like you. It’s the final layer – not just in your bridal styling, but in telling your story. My work is rooted in emotion and personal connection, and I pour so much into making sure every bride feels completely seen in her design.
